Schwarzach Valley Cycle Path

A secret tip for all nature lovers is the idyllic Schwarzach Valley Cycle Path. It runs from Wölsendorf via small Upper Palatinate villages to Neunburg vorm Wald and on via Rötz as far as Kritzenast, where the cycle path splits: in an easterly direction it carries on to Waldmünchen and in a northerly direction the cycle path leads on to the Friedrichshäng border crossing. The roughly 35 km long loop of the Schwarzach Valley Cycle Path in the Czech Republic makes a good combination.

Golf in the Lake District

The Upper Palatinate Forest Golf Club is one of the most interesting and diverse golf facilities in the region. The well-kept and challenging 18-hole golf course is set amid stunning countryside with a panoramic view across the Upper Palatinate Lake District. One legendary feature is the 14th hole, which is also known as the "forest hole" and for which there are even separate (safety) rules. Only a precise tee shot onto the fairway located 50 metres away steeply downhill will prevent certain calamity on the "14th".
